QUESTION:
What is the monitoring range of MyPulse?
ANSWER: If your computer is a desktop computer, the range is 1000ft. If your computer is portable such as the pocket size computer listed on this website, the range is in effect unlimited. The distance between you and the computer is still 1000ft, but, since the chart may be observed over the internet, the range is anywhere in the world where there is access to the internet.

QUESTION: Is MyPulse waterpoof?
ANSWER: Yes. For swimming, a long range monitor is necessary so that the computer may be far from the water. The repeater must be placed in its waterproof belt pack.

QUESTION: Will MyPulse dial a remote telephone number and/or send email while my computer is either stationary or mobile?
ANSWER: If your computer is stationary, has a modem and is plugged into a telephone wall jack, MyPulse will dial through the modem.
If your computer is mobile, MyPulse will dial through your mobile cell phone. If the computer and cell phone both use wireless bluetooth communications, MyPulse will dial through the bluetooth connection. The computer listed on this website uses wireless bluetooth communications (setup is via the windows control pannel). Consult your cell phone instructions to set up the bluetooth connection between the computer and your cell phone. If there is no bluetooth connection, you must either obtain a computer to cell phone usb cable or a usb wireless modem from your cell phone provider.
If there is an internet connection, MyPulse will send a text message to a cell phone, and email data to a computer.
IMPORTANT! Your computer to phone/email connection must be test dialed/emailed from MyPulse to make sure that it is working correctly. The test is conclusive when the recipient of the phone call/email responds. Verify that the phone resets itself correctly by hanging up and repeating the test.

QUESTION: When exercising and at rest MyPulse alarms even when actual heart rate does not exceed the alarm threshold. Why is that?
ANSWER:
When exercising, a sudden increase in heart rate will trigger the standard deviation chart alarm, even when the new heart rate is below the upper alarm limit on the heart rate chart. At rest the heart rate is low and the heart rate variability is very low. A very small increase in heart rate will represent a relatively large increase in variability, and will trigger the standard deviation chart alarm. If the above mentioned alarm is too frequent and undesirable, select a higher standard deviation alarm limit.

QUESTION: I have dry skin and when I use the monitor at rest for over five hours, the no-signal alarm appears. What can I do?
ANSWER: Use water to moisten the chest strap before starting the monitor. When moving about or exercising, normal perspiration will keep the chest strap moist. If the chest strap becomes dry, contact between strap and skin will be lost, and no signal will be sent to the computer. In that case, remoisten the strap such that the no-signal alarm goes away. Alternatively and to prevent the no-signal alarm in the first place, use the electrode gel instead of water.

QUESTION: What is fibrillation?

QUESTION: If MyPulse is upgraded and reinstalled, are the previous user settings and data retained?
ANSWER: Yes.
